Fairy Tale Inspired Poem: Humanity
Humanity
(Inspired by The Fisherman and his Wife)
By
Dorlana Vann
Beneath the dark cover of sky and water
Graciousness causes the enchanted to bleed.
When weakness overpowers logic
Regretful rhymes are spoken through the waves.
When selfishness has replaced contentment
Sinister clouds and winds are summoned.
Lessons are lurid in order to comprehend
Mortal values are ungodly.

Sinister clouds and winds are summoned
When selfishness has replaced contentment.
Regretful rhymes are spoken through the waves
When weakness overpowers logic.
Graciousness causes the enchanted to bleed
Beneath the dark cover of sky and water.
